On December 9th, 2017, Hassman Research Institute sponsored the Long-A-Coming Holiday Tour. Between the hours of 3-8 PM the community had a chance to explore the history of their town. Participants were able to go on a self-guided tour or take trolleys that stopped at each historical location. The event was presented by the “Downtown Berlin Revitalization”. The tour included 25 sites original to the town, new exhibits and a “roaming” choir.
“Lonaconing” was the name of Berlin Township originally given by the Native-Americans. This was later changed by travelers who crossed through Berlin, to get from Philadelphia to Atlantic City. “Long-A-Coming” became the main stopping point for coaches and carriages on this journey. Thus the name, “Long-A-Coming” Historic Holiday Tour.
Hassman Research Institute (HRI) sponsored the Berlin Township Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 1st, 2017. The event took place at the Berlin Township Municipal Building at 7PM. Santa, Mrs. Clause and their “animal friends” paid a visit to the Berlin Twp Winter Wonderland. The event included a live nativity scene and local choirs, including the surrounding schools and churches.
Community Liaison, Kim Feldbaum, was present for the event. She handed out hot chocolate and promotional magnets to the people who came out to Berlin’s very own Winter Wonderland. Did you know HRI has trials for indications as common as the flu? Request a prescreen today to learn about all the trials that HRI has to offer!
Berlin’s Spring Fest is an Annual Event hosted by the Township. The event encourages local vendors and businesses to come out and get to know one another, while simultaneously getting acquainted with the members of the town. Spring Fest was hosted this year on June 10th, 2017 at the Luke Baseball Fields in West Berlin. Hassman Research Institute (HRI) was present to raffle off floral hanging baskets while getting to know the people and companies that make this small town so great.
Spring Fest is a day full of fun for the entire family, with events ranging from, face painting, bounce house, obstacle course, games and prizes to live music, food trucks, car show and wine and beer garden. All of this topped off with a movie in the park at dusk.
2017 was HRI’s first time participating in Spring Fest, but we will definitely be back for years to come. Keep an eye out for us at next year’s event and be sure to come say hi! If you would like to know more about clinical research before this event, please feel free to request a prescreen today!
If you’re familiar with Berlin’s community, then you are already aware of the love this town shares for the Berlin Farmer’s Market. Located just minutes from Hassman Research Institute (HRI), this hidden local treasure is one of the largest indoor and outdoor flea markets in the South Jersey area. On weekends, the gates open to the public at 9AM and hundreds of patrons swarm the outdoor vendors.
On April 29th, 2017, HRI set up a pop-up-stand for the “Local’s” to find out what we do just hundreds of feet from The Mart. This event was a fun way to let people know just how close we are located to one of their favorite weekend hotspots. HRI Community Liaison, Kim Feldbaum, raffled off a gift basket to those who expressed interest in clinical trials. The basket included: an outdoor blanket, pool toys, beach towels, reusable beach cups and more.
It is of upmost importance to HRI that we inform the community of who we are and how to the benefits of clinical research may apply to them! If you are interested in learning about clinical trials could be benefit you or a loved one, request a prescreen today to learn more!
